The Eurasian red squirrel is a type of tree squirrel and as the name suggests is found throughout Eurasia and its coat is red in colour. For those of you familiar with the works of Beatrix Potter, you may know the character Squirrel Nutkin, who was a red squirrel.
The red squirrel mainly eats seeds from trees and is most active early in the morning and late fternoon and evening. During the day, it generally sleeps in its nests whch are built in the forks of trees.

Cute Chipmunks
Chipmunks are small squirrels with stripes on its face and back and they can be found in North America and Asia.
Like those cute little chipmunks featured in kid's cartoons, real chipmunks love to eat nuts, but they also love to eat fruit, berries, grains, small frogs and worms.
Many species of chipmunks like to stockpile food for the winter as many of the nuts and grains they eat disappear. Chipmunks have pouches in their cheeks which allows them to carry food to their burrows, which they can either eat or store away for winter.
