Cats certainly know how to grab our attention - sometimes it is just a look of anticipation, letting you know they are waiting (usually for their dinner or a scratch). At other times, they let us know through their meows and other tricks for getting our attention.

The Many Faces of a Cat - Part I
The Face of Contemplation
Cats spend much of their time in contemplation and like to sit where they can view the world while deep in thought. What they are thinking is a complete mystery - is it thoughts of food which keeps them so entranced or wondering where their newest hiding spot will be? Perhaps they are thinking of how to torment the dog next door or what demands they are going to place on their human owner when they return home.
