Loyal is one word that can be used to describe Labradors (also called Labrador Retrievers , but surely that is not the only reason that Labradors are one of the most popular dog breeds around the world.
Perhaps it is also because they are friendly, loving and faithful companions, as well as being incredibly intelligent and obedient. They make great family dogs as they are patient and affectionate and are great with children and other dogs.
Labradors can be trained easily, which is why they are often used as service dogs, including guide dogs for people with visual impairments, service dogs for people with disabilities as well as police dogs and customs dogs.

English Setters
The English Setter has been trained as a bird dog for over 400 years in England, which is known for its effectiveness in finding and pointing birds in open country.
The English Setter is well known for its intelligence and can be trained to do almost any task that other breeds can do, however herding is not one of those tasks. They are very energetic dogs and love to be around people.

D is for Daschund
A daschund is a breed of dog which belongs to the hound family. They have short legs and long bodies which have led to the numerous nicknames such as sausage dog, weiner dog and hot dog.
The term daschund has it roots in German and literally means badger dog. Daschunds were originally bred to hunt badgers and other animals which burrow.

The Bulldog is a breed of dog, which is often also referred to as the English Bulldog or the British Bulldog. Other breeds of bulldogs exist, including the American Bulldog and the French Bulldog.
Bulldogs are heavy set and their temperament does not usually reflect their unimpressed expression. Generally they are very docile dogs.

Alaskan Huskies and Alsations
An alaskan husky is generally a spitz-type dog, but it is not a particular breed but rather a type of dog, classified primarily by its purpose, which is a sled dog. Alaskan huskies are the preferred type for dog sled racing championships.
The Alsation, or German Shepherd, originated in Germany towards the end of the nineteenth century. It is a working dog which was originally used for herding and guarding sheep. They are one of the most commonly registered breeds around the world, mainly due to its loyalty and protectiveness.
