The Cliff Swallow is a bird which can be found in North and South America. It spends the winter in South America and migrates to North America in the summer months, where it breed in large colonies. On rare occasions, they can be found in Western Europe.
These small birds are known as Cliff Swallows as their nests are usually situated on the cliff face underneath an overhang.

5 Facts About Cormorants
Did you know....
- Cormorants and shags are the same thing? That's right! There are about 40 species of Cormorants and Shags over the world and they belong to the bird family, Phalacrocoracidae. Whether they are called cormorants or shags generally tends to depend where you are in the world.
- Cormorants and shags are coastal birds.
- They are fish eaters and will dive into the water to catch their prey.
- Cormorants and shags are known for standing out in the sun, with their wings spread out, after they have been diving for their food. While there are a number of theories as to why they do this, no one really knows for sure.
- In some countries, such as China and Japan, fisherman have trained cormorants to do their fishing for them. These is not very common anymore, but in Gifu Prefecture in Japan, this method of fishing has been used for over 1,000 years!
